Descripción de la oferta

A fully funded PhD position is available at the Department of Biomedical Sciences (Universitat Internacional de Catalunya) in collaboration with the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM, CSIC).
The project focuses on the development of next-generation neuro-bioelectronic platforms for organoid-on-a-chip applications, combining expertise in biomedical sciences, neuroscience, bioengineering, microfabrication, and bioelectronics. The PhD candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary environment under the joint supervision of researchers from the Department of Biomedical Sciences and IMB-CNM

Perfil buscado

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in: Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Materials Science, Nanoscience, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a hybrid profile combining interests in biomedical sciences, neuroscience, and device engineering/bioelectronics. The project is strongly interdisciplinary, and the selected candidate will work at the interface between organoid biology, neuroscience, bioengineering, and bioelectronic systems.
Previous experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly valued: microfabrication, biosensors, electrochemistry, organ-on-a-chip systems, organoid or cell culture, biomaterials, flexible electronics, microfluidics, bioelectronic interfaces, electrophysiology, neuroscience-related experimental techniques.
Good English communication skills are required.
