The dynamics in living organisms is controlled by a complex network of interacting macromolecules. To understand, model and potentially influence such processes it is important to detect, monitor and quantify the molecular interactions involved and their dynamics, preferably without the need of fluorescence tags. In our group we develop plasmon spectroscopy for the label-free detection, quantification and imaging of dynamic biomolecular interactions. This method is potentially useful for biochemical and biomedical research, for instance, single protein dynamics or biomarker detection.
