Descripción de la oferta

The Research Technologist will perform cutting-edge research into the mechanisms of genome integrity using mouse models and stem cell lines. The start date is negotiable and can range from April to July 2021. The lab is dedicated to the study of mechanisms that ensure genome stability during gametogenesis and early development, which is critical for fertility and avoidance of developmental defects. Additionally, our research is relevant to cancer research.

The research technologist has the opportunity to work collaboratively on several projects available in the lab.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of the employee will include: maintaining mouse colonies, molecular biology techniques (DNA, RNA and protein isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, western blot), fluorescence microscopy and histology techniques (sample preparation and imaging on microscope), cell culture techniques (cell freezing/thawing, cell culture maintenance, cell transfection). Designing and performing laboratory experiments, both independently, and as part of a collaborative scientific team. Documenting, compiling, and analyzing experimental data accurately. Participating in regular lab and small group meetings. Reporting findings in oral and written formats, including manuscripts. Maintaining and organizing the lab, including keeping track of supplies and reagents, and ordering and stocking the lab.
