A post-doctoral research position is available at the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF). The NIH-funded project supports the collaboration between the labs of Dr. James DeYoreo at Pacific NorthWest National Laboratories, Dr. Johan Bonde at Lund University (Sweden), Dr. Yifan Cheng at Gladstone Institute, San Francisco and Dr. Stefan Habelitz at UCSF. The studies focus on the high-resolution structural examinations of amelogenin protein assemblies and their interaction with mineralizing solutions.

The position is open now and can be renewed for up to five years on an annual basis. The payment level is based on the NIH/UCSF scales for postdoctoral fellows according to professional experience (approximately $57-65k/year). Benefits are provided and follow the HR-policies of UCSF.

Perfil buscado
  • PhD in biochemistry/bioengineering/materials science/biology or equivalent
  • A proven record of successful publications in international scientific journals
  • Fluent in English
  • Interest in biomimetics and engineering of mineralized tissues

Candidates with experience in biomineralization, protein-protein interactions, self-assembly, atomic force microscopy, electron microscopy or protein structure determination and modeling will have priority consideration.
