The successful candidate will work in the group Metal Homeostasis at Plant-Microbe Interactions (www.metalsym.com) at Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas (CBGP, UPM-INIA) (www.cbgp.upm.es) in Madrid, Spain. CBGP is one of the Spanish research institutes awarded with the Severo Ochoa Seal of Excellence (2022-2025).
The candidate will undertake a multidisciplinary project to design synthetic metal delivery systems to engineered nitrogenase components in crops. This will include: i) identifying and characterizing proteins interacting with metalloproteins, ii) Physiological characterization of mutants (plants or bacteria), iii) Metal imaging, iv) Protein localization with immunofluorescence, v) protein purification and biochemical studies.
Perfil buscado
Postdoctoral researcher with PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in Protein Biochemistry, particularly in protein-protein interaction, proteomics, and/or protein purification. Experience in anaerobic systems, membrane proteins, metalloproteins, or nitrogen fixation will be valued. Proficiency in English and/or Spanish is required.
