Descripción de la oferta
We are looking for candidates to apply for a “Juan de la Cierva”-position from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation to work on a project aimed at studying the molecular biology and function of proteolytic enzymes and their inhibitors. The hosting place is the Proteolysis Laboratory headed by F. Xavier Gomis-Rüth, which is part of the Molecular Biology Institute of Barcelona (IBMB) from the Higher Scientific Research Council (CSIC) in Barcelona. The institute is located on the premises of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), a major pole for excellence in research in biomedicine of the Barcelona area.
The position is scheduled for start in the first quarter of 2024 and span 2 years. The successful candidate would be hired under standard CSIC contract conditions including social security and health insurance benefits.
Perfil buscado
The candidate must be highly self-motivated and dedicated, be able to work hard independently but also to synergetically interact with other lab members, and have proven experience in all the steps required for protein production, i.e. from cloning to purification. He/she should have at least one first-author publication in a relevant journal. The project does not require skills in structural biochemistry.
