Postdoctoral position in legume–rhizobium symbiotic interactions: role of ethylene in the Medicago truncatula–Sinorhizobium meliloti symbiosis.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate the molecular mechanisms that regulate the establishment of legume–rhizobium symbiosis. The project, Iberus Experience, has received funding from the European Union under the Marie Sklodowska–Curie (MSCA)–COFUND program to fund a postdoctoral fellow for 3 years to join Cesar Arrese–Igor and Estibaliz Larrainzar’s group at the Public University of Navarra. The successful candidate will participate in deciphering the molecular mechanisms that govern ethylene signaling during the Medicago truncatula–Sinorhizobium meliloti symbiosis. The fellowship also includes short training periods in international laboratories* and in an agri–food industrial company** to give the candidate the opportunity to gain both academia and non–academia research experience, and to obtain new methodological skills (e.g. live cell imaging, molecular and plant transformation methods, CRISPR–Cas9 and proteomics, among others).
* LIPME, INRAE–Toulouse (in the team of Fernanda de Carvalho–Niebel and Andreas Niebel).
** University of Vienna (in the team of Stefanie Wienkoop).
Perfil buscado
The applicant should hold a doctoral degree in Plant Biology or a related field. The researcher must comply with the mobility rule of the Marie Sklodowska–Curie Actions: not have resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline. We seek candidates with a background in plant science, microbiology and/or plantmicrobial interactions with a solid foundation on molecular biology. We are looking for an independent and collaborative colleague with excellent communication skills.
Presentación de solicitudes
Applications should include a motivation letter, a detailed CV and the contact details of two references. Applications should be sent to Estibaliz Larrainzar before 01 December 2021 (estibaliz.larrainzar@unavarra.es).
