Noemí Jiménez Rojo is a biochemist specialized in membrane biophysics and lipid cell biology. She is currently an Ikerbasque researcher at the Department of Biochemistry at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where she leads a research line centered on understanding lipid diversity and uncovering new lipid functions using multidisciplinary approaches that include mass spectrometry of lipids and chemical biology.
She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from UPV/EHU and subsequently expanded her research experience at international institutions, including the University of Geneva in Switzerland, the Stony Brook Cancer Center in the United States, and the Institute of Protein Biochemistry in Italy.
