Cónsul de la SEBBM en Valencia

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences in 2013 and a MSc degree in Research in Molecular, Cellular and Genetics Biology in 2014 at the University of Valencia, I started my doctoral studies at Prof. Isabel Fariñas lab (University of Valencia). I obtained a FPU predoctoral fellowhip from the Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia that also funded a 3-months stay at Robin Lovell-Badge lab at the Francis Crick Institute in London (United Kingdom) in 2017. In 2019, I obtained my international PhD degree with the highest qualification. Since I joined Prof. Fariñas lab as an undergraduate student my research interest has been the molecular regulation of adult neural stem cells (NSC) in their homeostatic microenvironment or niche. I have focused in identifying and delving into the molecular mechanisms that maintain stemness and intrinsic regulators that coordinate and orchestrate the transition between quiescent and actively proliferating cell states. Due to my expertise in NSC biology and molecular background I have also contributed to projects in collaboration with other labs in the field, which are undergoing review or have already been published as preprints (doi: 10.1101/2020.08.12.247627). I am now a researcher for the Center for Biomedical Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases (CIBERNED).
