Descripción de la oferta
A Postdoctoral Researcher position is offered at the laboratory of Metabolism and Obesity, led by Dr. Josep A. Villena at VHIR. The research of Dr. Villena’s lab focuses on the study of the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which white and brown adipose tissues contribute to the control of body weight and glucose homeostasis, with particular interest in how alterations in such mechanisms lead to the development of metabolic pathologies (i.e. obesity and type 2 diabetes). The recruited researcher will lead a project aimed at unraveling the mechanisms by which obese individuals exhibit some degree of immunosuppression and susceptibility to pathogenic infections. This project runs within the framework of the OBESIMM study, an international project coordinated by Dr. Josep A. Villena, recently funded by the Joint Programming Initiative HDHL/ ISCIII.
